To enable the bounced mails detection in CCA you need to:
1. Enable a Catch-All account on your domain (an email address that collects all the mails sent to your domain name and not sent to the contact mail domain name).
2. Add the bounce settings on your List properties/Mailing.
N.B. The variable part in the cc<variable part>@domain.com will be used by CCA to identify the contact from the returned emails.
Customize bounced status
To customize the settings for hard bounced mails, add in your CCA settings/Lists (top-left side of the Supervisor menu) the DSN results, separated by a semicolon ;
You can add or remove result codes from this default list.
- Default hard bounced (DSN result):
5.1.x (address status)
5.2.1 (mailbox status - mailbox disabled)
5.3.3 (mail system status - system not capable of selected features)
5.3.4 (mail system status - message too big)
5.5.x (mail delivery protocol status)
5.6.x (message content or media status)
5.7.x (security status)
- Default soft bounced (DSN result):
0.0.0 (no DSN detected)
5.2.x (mailbox status)
Except for 5.2.1 (see above)
5.3.x (mail system status)
Except for 5.3.3 & 5.3.4 (see above)
5.4.x (network or routing status)
You have the ability, on the general bounced mails settings or on the sample list -> customized bounced settings, to set one or more attempts to retry to send an email that has been classified previously as a soft bounced email. To do this, simply enter a time by clicking on < Click to add an attempt...> at the bottom of the bounced settings dialog:
As indicated, the system will re-send the emails classified as soft bounced for the number of attempts set, whilst also delaying for the number of hours set since the original emails were sent.
