First steps in Supervisor
To manage your fieldwork, whatever the data collection mode - CATI/CAWI/CAPI, run the Supervisor module.
To start with you will need:
- a qex file (questionnaire)
- a list of contacts (if you want to invite or call the contacts)
- a mail template (if you want to send an email campaign)
1. Create a survey
Select the Task window.
Right-click, add a new survey
Select the qex to upload
Select the remote location
2. Set Callback rules
If you want to run a CATI survey, click on the Callback tab and set the callback rules . . .
You can use also callback rules by shift or by script.
3. Set dialing mode
If you want to run a CATI survey and if you have a dialer connected to your platform, select the dialing mode:
- Manual dialing (default)
- Manual dialing with preview
- Preview dialing (the agents select the call and then dial)
- Progressive dialing (1 agent = 1 call)
- Predictive dialing (1 agent = >1 calls)
4. Publish to web
In the task properties, select the menu "WebProd".
Select the web server, then right-click "Set online".
Once your questionnaire is online, you will be able to test it using the "Test interview" option.
5. Set your contacts list
Select the contacts list window
and then right-click "New Sample List"
- You can select a . lst file and import it (create a sample list with Lister).
- Or you can link your sample file to an external database
Select the database name
Once your User Id and password are added, you will be able to select the table, the field as unique ID, the phone Number and/or the Email to use.
Then allocate the survey to your list(s).
6. Set your quotas
Select your task (survey), make a right-click and select Quotas
Select the general Quota row and add a question
N.B. If you have to set interlocking quotas, always first select the sample quota question which contains information coming from the sample list. This will drive the contacts to be called/invited first.
A quota could be set on closed (single or multi-coded ) or numeric questions.
You can set the minimum and maximum counts to complete.
7. Set your Outbound group
If you want to run a CATI survey, you have to create an Outbound group.
On the Group hierarchy window, select Outbound Groups, make a right-click and then select New Outbound Group.
Name your group and select the task allocated to this project.
You'll obtain :
And to finish, select your new outbound group and make a right-click to Add agents.
N.B. You can drag and drop Agents from the Agents Window to your Outbound group.
8. Set your Emailing
You can invite respondents to complete your web survey from the Supervisor interface.
You will need:
- a survey set Online on WebProd
- an HTML template invitation
- an SMTP credential
