AskiaVista uses enhanced security permissions to deliver application-like performance.
1. Security settings
1.1 Set the zone
Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Now set the security zone to Local Intranet or higher.
1.2 Add the site
Click on Sites, then in the Local intranet window click on Advanced.
Now add your AskiaVista site and close.
1.3 Customize the level
Click on Custom Level and then check the following security settings:

2. Advanced settings
Still in Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab.
In the Browsing section activate:
Enable visual styles on buttons and controls on web pages.

2. Advanced settings
Still in Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab.
In the Browsing section activate:
Enable visual styles on buttons and controls on web pages.
3. Specific IE 10 settings
In order to connect to AskiaVista with Internet Explorer 10; you must also set:
- Browser mode: IE10 compatibility mode
- Document mode: Quirks IE5
These options are accessible via: Tools menu > Development tools (or just hit F12).
AskiaVista 6.x
AskiaVista 6.x requires you use a modern web browser1. AskiaVista is compatible with the latest versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera Next and Internet Explorer.
No plugins are required but you will need to make sure (even though all browsers enable these by default now) that:
- Sites & web applications can run JavaScript
- Sites & web applications can display all images
