Introduction

This article provides a description of how to show a weighted and unweighted base on tables produced in AskiaAnalyse. It assumes you know how to apply weighting to a table definition. It also assumes you know how to find and amend General settings, change the properties of a calculation and create a new calculation.

When weighting is applied to a set of results the total is shown, by default, weighted. You may want to display both the weighted and unweighted base. This article explains the steps you need to take to achieve this.

Required setup

1. Remove the default Total row

From the General section of your table definition, select Settings.... On the "Total and caption" tab, de-select the checkbox on Total Row as seen here . . .

2. Create new calculations

• For the weighted base

From the General section of the table definition, in the pane that displays the calculations, right-click and select Insert. Create a new calculation with the properties shown here:

• For the unweighted base

From the General section of the table definition, in the pane that displays the calculations, right-click and select Insert. Create a new calculation with the properties shown here:

• For the base shown when weighting is not applied (optional)
  

You may also want to define a third calculation type for when weighting has not been applied to your tables. To do this, go to the General section of the table definition. In the pane that displays the calculations, right-click and select Insert. Create a new calculation with the properties shown here:

3. Calculation types to show

Ensure that you have selected the calculation types you wish to show and that they are in the order you wish to show them, as in this example . . .



If you need to change the order of a calculation, click on it and drag it up or down the list or use the keyboard shortcut ALT + UP or ALT + DOWN arrow.
